Kathmandu: The story of Khalisisi is quite interesting. The journey of Khalisisi, which has been connecting waste collectors and waste sellers, started in 2017.

It was painful for Aayushi KC to see piles of waste everywhere–from streets to public places–in Kathmandu. One random day, an idea to manage the waste of Kathmandu Valley, struck KC’s mind.

In a conversation with Nepal Live Today, KC shared how the idea came up to connect waste collectors and sellers through an application, social media, and telephone.

The initial days were not easy for KC. But with continuous hard work and dedication, KC succeeded, though the platform is still small and growing. 

Today, as the CEO of Khalisisi, KC is leading a platform that connects over 13,000 waste collectors and sellers. Watch her journey in the video interview with NL Today:
