Nepal records five Covid-19 deaths, 815 new cases in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 815 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 2,411 samples tested through PCR and 2,123 antigen tests in various labs across the country during the same period. The positivity rate is at 17.97 percent.

With five deaths reported in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s Covid-19 death tally stands at 11,982 as of Thursday afternoon.

Similarly, 467 people recovered from the infection in a day, taking the recovered cases to 974,295 to date. The recovery rate stands at 98.2 percent, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are 5,869 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. Among them, 5,677 are being treated in home isolation, 192 in institutional isolation, 60 in ICU, and eight on ventilators.
