Kathmandu: A security guard at Chhaya Center has been sent to jail for investigation as he asked a sitting minister to wait in a queue.

The Kathmandu District Administration has remanded Sher Jung Gurung in custody for five days. Gurung, a security guard at the visa center of Canada, was taken into custody after he asked Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha to wait in queue for his turn.

Gurung is currently being held at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbarmarg.

The police have filed a case against Gurung under Clause 118 of the National Penal Code.

According to police, Gurung has been arrested for his “indecent behavior” with a sitting minister.

Minister Shrestha on Friday reached the visa center for biometrics for a Canada trip. When Gurung asked Shrestha to stay in the queue, the minister’s bodyguard told the security guard that he was a minister.
