National tourism conference held in the capital

Kathmandu: Tourism Research and Training Institute (TRTI) and Global Travel and Tourism Partnership (GTTP) held a national tourism conference at Russian Culture Center in Kathmandu on Friday.  Students from nine schools performed cultural shows and tourism promotion events representing all seven provinces of the country. They also presented an investigative report on the occasion.  GTTP’s Nepal chapter and TRTI launched tourism songs and honored five youths with awards for promoting tourism.  The award with the cash prize of Rs 11,000 each was presented to Sachin Neupane, Sirjana Oli, Himalaya Bhatta, Manasi Agrawal and Devendra Shahi Thakuri.

Hom Prasad Luitel, the Director General of the Department of Tourism graced the occasion as a chief guest and Dr Ghanashyam Khatiwada, the executive director of Pashupati Area Development Trust was the special guest.

Winners of the tourism speech competition were provided cash prizes and certificates.

“Through these activities, we are trying to promote tourism in Nepal,” said TRTI chair Madan Baral who has proposed to the government that 2023 and 2024 should be declared as the tourism awareness years in Nepal.
