Dang: Eight persons were killed when a jeep skidded off the road and fell around 200 meters down in Salyan district in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Salyan Chief District Officer Bipin Acharya confirmed that the fatalities occurred when the jeep, Ra 1 Ja 563, met with an accident at Kapurkot Rural Municipality-6, Rim Jalawang at around 3:30 am.
The identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, police said, adding that one injured in the mishap has been rushed to Dang for treatment.
Police backed by locals are carrying out rescue operation.
