Two children die, three injured in improvised explosive device blast in Kalikot

Manma: Two children died and three were injured as an improvised explosive device went off in Tilagufa Municipality in Kalikot district on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as four-year-old Saraswati Rana, and four-year-old Jharana Thapa, according to police. Both of them died in the course of treatment.

The injured, according to the local administration, are children aged seven, five and three years.   

The injured, according to police, are receiving treatment at a local hospital. 

According to Ram Hari Sharma, chief district officer of Kalikot, an investigation is underway to identify if the IED was placed recently or was remnants of the past.
