Nepal records 50,263 dengue cases

Kathmandu: Nepal has recorded 50,263 dengue cases till Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. 

The highest number of people-39,217 suffered from dengue disease in Bagmati Province followed by Lumbini province—4827. Similarly, the number of people suffering from dengue disease was 672 in Karnali Province. A total of 13,732 cases were detected in Kathmandu district. Similarly, Lalitpur district recorded 9,500 and Bhaktapur 5,366 dengue cases. 

Likewise, 5,281 dengue cases were detected in Makawanpur and 2,580 in Chitwan till Sunday. Six hundred 24 new dengue patients were detected in the past six days. Meanwhile, the number of people who lost their lives due to dengue has reached 55 so far, added the Ministry. 

The Ministry has been launching dengue prevention and control programme under ‘Search and Destroy’ campaign in all seven provinces.
