Kathmandu: Pradip Poudel, a Nepali Congress candidate, has won the parliamentary election from Kathmandu-5.

Poudel defeated CPN-UML leader Ishwar Pokharel by 5,065 votes.

According to the Election Commission, Poudel bagged 15,237 votes, while his nearest rival Pokharel secured 10,172 votes. Likewise, Dr Pranaya Shumsher Rana, a candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party, bagged 4,179 votes.
