UML’s Shrestha wins HoR election from Kathmandu-9

CPN (UML) candidate Krishna Gopal Shrestha has won the election to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu-9. 

The 64-year-old leader defeated his nearest competitor Tek Bahadur Pokhrel from the Rastriya Swatantra Party by 995 votes. He obtained 11,956 while Pokhrel got 10,961 votes.

This is the fourth victory for Shrestha, the permanent resident of Balkhu of Kathmandu. A politburo member of CPN-UML, Shrestha is an MA graduate in Economics and has served as the Minister of State for local government and Education Minister.
