Persons with disabilities participate in wheelchair basketball game in western Nepal

Kathmandu: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated by playing wheelchair basketball in Nawalparasi East of Nepal.

A friendly basketball competition between wheelchair users has been held in Devchuli municipality of Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta east).

Players from Devchuli and Pokhara took part in the event. Pokhara group defeated Devchuli group. Ghanshyam Subedi, President of Dhaulagiri Persons with Disabilities Advancement Association, Debchuli said that the competition was organized to encourage the relevant authorities to organize similar events to boost the people with disabilities’ participation in sports.

Mayor of Devchuli Municipality, Hariprasad Neupane, expressed the commitment to always be at the forefront for the rights of the people with disabilities. We are committed to provide skills and opportunities along with disability-friendly services.
