Miklajung: Two persons died and two other sustained inquiries as a fire engulfed a house at Phidim Municipality-5 in Panchthar district on Wednesday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Khatiwada, the fire engulfed the house of Megh Bahadur Gurung at 1.35 am. The deceased, according to him, are Gurung’s daughter-in-law Asang Singh Thebe, 23, and daughter Mamata Gurung, 22.
Megh Bahadur and Bijendra Gurung sustained minor injuries, while three others narrowly escaped the fire.
The fire has completely destroyed the house with stock grains, jewelries and other belongings worth Rs 5 million.
According to the preliminary study of police, a short circuit might have caused the fire.
