Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has included rape-accused Sandeep Lamicchane in the closed camp of the men’s national cricket team on Thursday.

With this, Lamichhane, former captain of the national team, is starting training with the national team from Friday.

The former captain’s suspension, which had been in effect since September 8, was removed by CAN on Tuesday, allowing the 22-year-old bowler to compete in regional, national, and international competitions.

The 28-member squad for the Nepal Tri-Series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 was announced by the cricket governing body last week. Scotland and Namibia will be guests of Nepal at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground. The tri-series is slated to run from February 14 to February 21.
