Chandra Bhandari’s mother Harikala, injured in gas cylinder blast, dies

On Wednesday evening, Chandra Bhandari and his mother sustained severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at their home in Buddhnagar.

Kathmandu: Harikala Bhandari, mother of Nepali Congress lawmaker Chandra Bhandari, who was severely injured in a gas cylinder blast, died of burn injuries at Kirtipur Hospital on Thursday. She was 86. 

Both of them had sustained severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at their home in Buddhanagar in Kathmandu on Wednesday. 

According to the hospital, Harikala died at 10:57 am in the course of treatment.

In the meantime, preparations are being made to take Chandra Bhandari to Mumbai for further treatment. He has sustained burn injuries in 40 percent of his body parts, according to the hospital.
