Kathmandu: Abukhaireni Rural Municipality of Tanahu district has made it mandatory for the people’s representatives to educate their children in community schools in a bid to improve quality of education in those schools. A meeting of the rural municipality executive held on Sunday took the decision to that effect. The decision is to be implemented from the coming academic session, said Chairperson of the rural municipality, Shukra Chuman.

There are 32 people’s representatives in the rural municipality. Six wards of Abukhaireni Rural Municipality have 35 community schools where around 405 students are studying. “We decided to educate children of people’s representatives in community school in order to bring our commitment of uplifting educational quality of community school in practice. The rural municipality has also made preparation to provide buses to community schools in grants”, added Chair Chuman.
