Kathmandu: The official Twitter account of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, which was hacked since yesterday evening, has been successfully recovered.
The office of the Prime Minister is currently investigating the incident.
The account was hacked even when the account had two-factor authentication enabled.
During the time the account was compromised, several unauthorized tweets were retweeted from the account. However, steps have been taken to secure the account and prevent any further breaches from occurring, the office of the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister’s office takes this issue very seriously and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the Prime Minister’s social media accounts, it said.
