Kathmandu Metro issues a week’s ultimatum to remove illegal structures along river banks

The Metropolis has warned to forcefully demolish such structures if the concerned ones do not remove them themselves within the given time.

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Saturday has directed all stakeholders to remove the illegally built structures along the river bank in Kathmandu district within seven days. Issuing a notice, the KMC asked all those encroaching on the public places such as river bank and river corridor and owning the properties built illegally to remove those structures.

The Metropolis warned that it will forcefully demolish such structures if the concerned ones do not remove the illegally constructed structures themselves within the stipulated timeline. Furthermore, the KMC has notified them that all expenses incurred during the removal shall be borne by the concerned side.
