PM Dahal expands cabinet, inducts one deputy prime minister, 11 ministers

This is the seventh time the Prime Minister has expanded the Council of Ministers after his appointment.

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday expanded the Council of Ministers, inducting 11 ministers. However, the cabinet is yet to get a full shape.

This is the seventh time that Dahal has expanded his cabinet after his appointment as the Prime Minister on December 25.

Prime Minister Dahal has appointed four ministers from the Nepali Congress. The Nepali Congress has joined the government under the leadership of its Vice Chair Purna Bahadur Khadka, who has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense.

Likewise, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has been appointed the Minister for Finance, Ramesh Rijal as the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and Sita Gurung as the Minister for Urban Development.

Similarly, Ashok Rai of Janata Samajwadi Party has been appointed the Minister for Education.

Likewise, PM Dahal has appointed Bedu Ram Bhusal, vice president of CPN (Unified Socialist) as the Minister for Agriculture, and Prakash Jwala as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
