Prime Minister Dahal expanding his cabinet today

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is expanding his cabinet today as the ruling parties have agreed upon the division of ministerial portfolios. 

“The newly-appointed ministers would take the oath of office and secrecy by 3 PM today,” confirmed Haribol Gajurel, chief political advisor to Prime Minister Dahal. 

As per the agreement between the parties, the Nepali Congress will get eight ministries, CPN (Maoist) will get five ministries, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janta Samajwadi will get two ministries each, and Loktantrik Samajwadi, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Nepal Samajwadi Party, Aam Nagarik Party will get one ministry each. 

It has been agreed that the Nepali Congress will get the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry for Defense, Ministry for Urban Development, Ministry for Health, Ministry for Law, Ministry for General Administration, and Ministry for Land Management. 

Likewise, the CPN (Maoist) will get Home Ministry, Communication Ministry, Tourism Ministry, Women and Children Ministry, and Energy Ministry. Similarly, the CPN (Unified Socialist) will get the Ministry for Physical Infrastructure and the Ministry for Forest.
