Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party has decided to suspend its lawmaker Dhaka Kumar Shrestha after an audio tape of the latter seeking bribe was leaked.
In the leaked audio tape, Shrestha can be heard asking for Rs 20 million from medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai so that the Rastriya Swatantra Party makes him the Minister for Health and Population. Shrestha has said that he would bring policy changes that will benefit Prasai.
“I need to provide Rs 20 million to the party [Rastriya Swatantra Party] to become the Health Minister,” Shrestha can be heard.
