Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Sunday appointed Surendra Acharya, a Nepali Congress leader, as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
According to Govinda Acharya, press adviser to the prime minister Dahal, newly-appointed minister Acharya will take an oath of office and secrecy from President Ramchandra Paudel today itself.
Mahindra Raya Yadav of the Nepal Samajbadi Party, who was heading the same ministry, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Water Supply.
Surendra was elected to the House of Representatives from Kapilvastu-2.
