Record breaking feat: Kami Rita ascends Mount Everest for 27th time

Kami Rita now has set a new world record for the most successful ascents on Mt Everest. Earlier, Pasang Dawa Sherpa equalized his record scaling Everest for 26 times.

Kathmandu: Nepali Sherpa Kami Rita Sherpa has broken his own record by scaling Mount Everest for the record 27th time. 

The 53-year-old reached the summit of the 8,848.86-meter mountain on Wednesday morning, according to his expedition organizer, Seven Summit Treks. 

Kami Rita Sherpa’s mountaineering journey began in 1992, and since then, he has climbed Everest 27 times. He has also conquered other notable peaks, including K2, Lhotse, Manaslu, and Cho Oyu multiple times.
