PM Oli assigns additional portfolios to ministers, Bishnu Poudel to oversee Home Ministry

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assigned additional responsibilities to ministers while taking responsibilities for two ministries himself.

Prime Minister Oli has taken the responsibility of Defense Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while has assigned Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel to look after Home Ministry, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, and Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.

Similarly, Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha has additional responsibilities of Ministry of Forest and Environment, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Labor and Employment, and Ministry of Health and Population.

Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport Basant Kumar Nembang is to look after the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Ministry of Urban Development.

Moreover, Minister Lilanath Shrestha is assigned the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

The Supreme Court had recently annulled the expansion of the Cabinet by PM Oli on June 4 and 11 saying that it was against the spirit of the Constitution.
