First online edition of “Science and Technology Review” launched virtually

Kathmandu: The first edition of the online publication of the “Science and Technology Review” was launched virtually by the Nepal Science Foundation Trust on Sunday.

The Trust brought together personalities from the Nepali diaspora in the field of science and technology aiming at promoting knowledge transfer through the event.

“Science and Technology Review” is a result of a joint effort of Nepal Science Foundation Trust (NSFT), Skill Knowledge and Technology Transfer (SK&TT) Department in collaboration with the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and several intellectuals from the Nepali diaspora.

The online publication aims at highlighting and sharing the Research and Development (R&D) of the Nepali Diaspora, and highlighting their potential in the development of Nepal. 

The Trust, in the online publication, aims at publishing the major achievements of the Nepali community worldwide in the scientific and technological fields.

Dr Sunil Shrestha, Vice Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of  Science and Technology (NAST) highlighted the importance of academic contributions of Nepali diaspora. “We are excited to support the endeavors of the Nepal Science Foundation Trust. I am looking forward to reading various issues of “Science and Technology Review”.

Dr Shrestha further added: “We are currently working on a NRNA Science and Technology Award to acknowledge the contributions of Nepalis living abroad working in science and technology.”

Mana Khatri, CEO at Southern Academy Group, talked about the importance of the science and technology field. “I feel the contribution of the Nepali Diaspora to our community is understated,” he said.
