Urmila Aryal elected National Assembly vice-chair

Kathmandu: Urmila Aryal, a lawmaker of Maoist (Center), has been elected the vice chair of National Assembly–the upper house of the parliament–unopposed.

During a meeting of the upper house on Monday, Ganesh Timilsina, chairman of the National Assembly, announced that Aryal has been elected the vice chair unopposed. She was elected after no other candidates challenged her candidacy. 

Aryal’s nomination was proposed by Maoist Centre’s member of the upper house, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, and seconded by CPN-UML’s lawmaker Devendra Dahal and Khim Lal Devkota, an independent member of the House.
