Four including hospital employees arrested for issuing fake PCR reports

Kathmandu: Police have arrested three hospital employees and a middleman on the charge of preparing fake Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) reports for Covid-19.

Employees at Civil Community Teaching Hospital in Bhaktapur and Kantipur Hospital in Tinkune and one middleman have been nabbed during a riad by Metropolitan Police Crime Division on Tuesday.

The arrested are Roshan Kumar Chhitan,25, and Nagendra Yadav, 25, of Dhanusha, Madhav Mainali, 21 of Kavre and Prasanna Kumar Jha of Sarlahi. Jha is a Lab Manager at Nagarik Hospital.

Similarly, SP Krishna Koirala said that two persons were absconding. The law enforcement agency has launched a manhunt to nab Babesh Mishra, 40, of Rautahat and Nirmal Giri, 40.

During the raid, police seized one computer monitor, one laptop, three CPUs, PCR registration registers, PCR reports, receipts and five mobiles. According to SP Koirala, they used to make fake PCR reports for people leaving for foreign employment.
